OOTD || The Perfect Summer Dress

If you live in Australia, you know the struggle. The weather gets warmer and warmer and your desire to wear less and less grows.

Each year as things start to heat up, I am on the hunt for wearable summer dresses. I'm looking for a dress that you can wear anytime and anywhere - just throw it on and run out the door.

Sometimes you find that outfit that just seems right for every occasion. As seasons change, there's always those few pieces that you constantly find yourself reaching for. So far this summer, my white wrap dress from Bardot has been that piece - it has quickly become one of my most worn dresses.

The Iconic is currently selling a very similar one HERE
Dress it up or dress it down - from a day at the beach, to dinner at my favourite restaurant - the options are endless!

I stumbled across it by complete chance and have been enjoying it as an addition to my wardrobe ever since. I was attending a friends 30th 'Mexican Fiesta' birthday party and the event called for a costume. After wandering around the shops trying on multiple outfits that screamed 'Mexican Fiesta' but just didn't seem right for me, I became frustrated. I picked this one up, tried it on and fell in love. I styled the dress with a red flower crown, red earrings and gold accessories. While not the most obvious 'Mexican' costume, I managed to somewhat adhere to the them while still feeling like myself - win/win!

White is not a colour that I commonly reach for but as my skin starts to slowly darken thanks to many days at the beach, my love for it is growing. Although, my clumsy nature and white might end up being a love hate relationship. Approximately 30 minutes into wearing this dress for the first time, I spilt a whole taco covered in tabasco sauce down the front. But don't worry, my friend combined with her trusty bottle of 'StainGo' and about 30 minutes of dabbing saved the day!
Lately I've been pairing the dress with various neutral accessories. Here I've worn camel mules from Forever New, an embellished cross-body bay from Sheike and Quay Muse Sunglasses in gold/pink. I chose simple and elegant jewellery with an assortment of gold pieces. Hoop earrings aren't generally my go-to style but these seemed to go with the look quite nicely (similar accessories linked below - unfortunately the bag and shoes are now out of stock).

I've been loving heeled mules for summer. As the bigger more refined sister of the slider, this heel is fitting for any occasion. Not quite as revealing as a sandal, yet sparse enough for warmer climates, the mule is the perfect accessory to up your style-game this summer.
What are you wearing on repeat this summer?
xoxo
